ABOUT SMILE

Smile Foundation is a national level development organisation reaching out to more than 200,000 underprivileged children & youth directly. About 140 welfare projects are operational across 22 states of India, covering subjects like education, healthcare, livelihood, women empowerment and advocacy.

The entire management process of Smile Foundation is based on the principles of good governance and monitored / accounted for by a 4-tier process, including a 4-tier audit system. In fact, to ensure impartial monitoring and optimisation of resource, Smile is the first development organisation in India to have appointed a Company Secretary to certify its compliance with 'Standards of Good Governance'.

WHY SMILE MADE THIS FILM

There are over 60 million children without proper access to education. It is our aim to see these children going to school, which can only happen by mobilisation and sensitization, leading to an active involvement of the civil society. Smile sees this film as an innovative method to make that appeal through a more entertaining and acceptable mode. It is a medium to disseminate a social message in an innovative manner, where information and entertainment co-exist as infotainment.
